Dear Friends!
In March 2024, the 90th anniversary of the birth of our great compatriot, an outstanding writer, philosopher, artist, and universal favorite, Mikhail Zhvanetsky, turned out. In San Francisco, an initiative group of volunteers was formed, and they planned to establish a Memorial in honor of the Master. We know that no immigration communities have carried out a similar project.
At the moment, an official permit has been received to install the monument on the territory of the Hills of Eternity Cemetery in Colma/Daly City. The place is unique. The cemetery administration allocated it for free as a donor contribution and a sign of respect to our community.
We are sure that this monument project, in honor of the person not afraid to tell such a bitter truth and who did it so talentedly and witty, whose jokes did not age, who made us laugh to tears, and sometimes through tears, will not leave you indifferent.
We hope that this initiative will be supported by everyone who loves and knows the work of Mikhail Zhvanetsky. We announce the fund's collection to open the monument to an excellent writer.
All funds raised will go to the monument project's implementation, including the monument's manufacture and installation, the minimum expenses for administrative and financial activities (banking services, postal services, etc.), and the subsequent maintenance of the memorial. The project's initiators are its first donors. Participants in the initiative group do not receive any material compensation. Our action is purely charity.
The names of donors (except those who want to do this anonymously) will be published on the pages of the newspaper KSTATI and the Website: www.CharitySustainableWorld.org/MZ-Memorial
Donations can be made in any amount. Suppose the contribution is made in memory of any of the relatives or friends. In that case, as is often accepted, these names will also be published. At the moment, the sketch of the monument is completed to transfer it to the manufacturer. We appreciate your support and hope you will help us start the manufacture and installation of a memorial soon.
